The T-Third has one inbound and one outbound stop in Chinatown. The Rose Pak Station stop is the final stop of this line and is the only stop in Chinatown. Listed here is the Rose Pak Station average daily weekday ridership (boarding and departing combined):
Rose Pak Station - 4405
2433 Boarding
1972 Departing
The Rose Pak Station is a recent addition to the Chinatown neighborhood, opening on November 19, 2022. This line is used to connect the Dogpatch and Mission Bay through Downtown to Chinatown, and eventually will expand into the Marina district as part of the T line.
Overall, ridership is strong in the morning, tapers off during the afternoon, and mostly remains consistent until after 5 pm, where numbers begin to decrease.
The main draw with this stop is that it serves as a great connection for riders who use the Powell Street underground transit hub, where it is connected to all other SFMTA MUNI subway lines and BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) without having to go up to the surface. Commuters will have to walk to a separate tunnel entrance to get to the T line at Powell Station due to the depth of the tunnel.
The baseline distribution model below only contains inbound stops that show the expected hourly weekday ridership (blue) versus the actual ridership observed (red) at each stop using SFMTA data. The Chinatown stop (last stop) stands out with the deepest colors, reflecting higher levels of activity relative to other points along the line.
