The outbound stops see much higher ridership, where over 60% consists of people boarding the bus.

The baseline distribution model below only contains inbound stops that show the expected hourly departing weekday ridership (blue) versus the actual departing ridership observed (red) at each stop using SFMTA data. The Chinatown stops (40-45) stand out with the deepest colors, reflecting higher levels of activity relative to other points along the line. It can be noted that other stops along the route are more popular, in particular stops 38 and 46 show higher levels of activity compared to Chinatown stops but this can be explained quite easily. Stop 38 is Kearny & Geary St, which is located right on a transit hub area. Stop 46 on the other hand is located at Columbus Ave & Green St, and it stops right next to NEMS (North East Medical Services) which is a popular destination stop for many people in the Chinese community as well as being at the entrance of the North Beach neighborhood.
