Among the inbound stops, Clay St & Stockton St records the highest ridership, accounting for nearly two-thirds of all 1-California ridership in Chinatown. By contrast, Clay St & Grant Ave and Clay St & Kearny St show significantly lower activity levels.

Among the outbound stops, Sacramento St & Stockton St records the highest ridership, accounting for a little under one-half of all outbound ridership numbers. By contrast, the Sacramento St & Powell St stop shows significantly lower activity levels.

Ridership at Clay St & Kearny St is also noticeably higher in the morning hours (6–8 AM) compared to other times of day, based on the hourly breakdown of boardings and alightings.
